Everybody pursues a different goal in life. For Rachelle, 84, resident at Chartwell Cité-Jardin in Gatineau, she feels fulfilled by overcoming new challenges that help prove to herself and others her own strength and capability.
Rachelle has always been generous towards others and involved in her community as a volunteer. She makes it a priority to devote time and energy to causes that are close to her heart. She has always shown great determination in everything she does, and constantly thinks about what it would be like to really go beyond her limits.
Rachelle is no stranger when it comes to adventure and excitement. She regularly travelled across the world when she was younger to volunteer in humanitarian efforts, but she has always had an unfulfilled dream: to go skydiving. For over 20 years, she has held onto this dream, hoping it would come true one day. “I’ve done a lot of exciting things in my life, but that’s one thing I hadn’t done yet,” she said.
The Chartwell Foundation gave Rachelle the thrill of a lifetime! Although the skydiving experience only lasted a few minutes, she loved and cherished every moment of it. “I’m so glad that I accomplished this! I wasn’t scared at all,” she said, “It was absolutely amazing. You no longer see the sky in the same way.”
