Nicole’s Special Family Reunion

When Nicole turned 80, she celebrated the milestone with her family at the top of mind. Even amidst her battle with cancer, her unwavering wish to reunite with her siblings, cousins, and the rest of her family after over a decade apart, kept her going in her most challenging moments.

The Chartwell Foundation was pleased to reunite Nicole with about 30 of her relatives through an experience that has no doubt become a heartwarming, deeply cherished memory. The reunion took place at an Italian restaurant in Quebec City, where Nicole arrived in style by limousine. Along with her family’s embrace, she received flowers and a cake, making the event even more special. She had a permanent smile on her face throughout the evening, taking photos and sharing jokes with her relatives over delicious food.

Nicole hopes her story serves as inspiration for others to always set goals as they provide the motivation needed to persevere. She shares that seeing her family again has given her a lasting sense of peace that she will carry for the rest of her life.
