Danielle’s Light in the Darkness

Danielle Lepage is no stranger to heartache, having endured significant loss, including the early passing of her mother, and more recently, her husband. And yet, amidst all the grief, her heart is full of love. From her upbringing to her volunteer work, Danielle has led a life of compassion and resilience. Her dream to see acclaimed Canadian singer Mario Pelchat has given her a much-needed sense of hope that she will hold in her heart for years to come.

Danielle worked in the senior sector throughout her career. Making people’s lives better has been the cornerstone of her life! In addition to caregiving for her late husband, she has been a home care attendant and worked with a foundation that provides low-income seniors with complimentary vacations. She remarks that seeing the joy on the seniors’ faces was her greatest gift.

Since her husband’s passing, Danielle has found comfort in her friendships, especially with Yvon, a trusted confidant and former nurse who resides in the same retirement community. She loves socializing and listening to others. Through her wish, she hopes to inspire fellow seniors, showing them that aging is filled with beauty and richness

The Chartwell Foundation fulfilled Danielle’s wish with a lovely night out accompanied by her friend Yvon. It began with a limousine ride to dinner at a restaurant, followed by a live Mario Pelchat concert at Quartier Dix30. After the concert, Danielle and Yvon went backstage to meet their idol. Danielle called her experience “magical”, as it gave her the opportunity to step out, dress up, and indulge in a pleasant evening—a brief respite from the weight of her sorrow.
