Clifford’s Game Day

Clifford Sagert’s lifelong passion lies in sports. Actively engaged within the Kamloops community, he dedicated 51 years to umpiring softball and playing fastball. Alongside his active involvement in local sports, Clifford has been a devoted fan to his favourite team, the Green Bay Packers, for over five decades. Despite his commitment to the Packers, he has never had the chance to witness their games live and that has been his lifelong dream.

Originally from Viking, Alberta, Clifford moved to Kamloops as a child. He has dedicated 37 years of his life to diligently serving the community as a post man for Canada Post. Now retired, Clifford finds joy in the company of his wife, three sons, and grandchildren. When he is not in front of the television cheering on the Packers, he can be found spending time with his beloved grandchildren, walking his son’s dog, or taking care of the yard.

Yet, amidst these joyful moments persisted his dream to witness his favourite team live on the field. The Chartwell Foundation was delighted to send Clifford and his son to Wisconsin to watch the Packers play live at Lambeau Field! Dressed in the team’s merchandise, they enjoyed a fantastic long weekend packed with memorable activities, including a three-hour tour of the stadium. The experience was made even more unforgettable by the team’s victory.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me as I would not have been able to afford it unless I had help,” shared Clifford. “I will be forever thankful and in awe that I was there to watch the team play.”
